I create images that examine lost connections, and retracing broken familial connections, lost generations and a broader discussion of absence. Using still photographs with objects and people creates a sense of awkwardness, pain, loss, and joy between kinships within my work. Studying lost connections that carry emotional tethers allows me to create a sense of something lingering whether it is a person or relationship that is trying to evolve and rebuild itself. Using natural lighting rather than artificial gives my work a sense of warmth and resonates a feeling of time lingering and changing. The conversation between objects and people in each composition forms a mournful yet delicate quality to my work and being able to create such imagery gives me a sense of peace that transcends into the viewers eye.
